THE START OF RUSTY'S ROCKS
Posted by Dave on 16th Feb 2014
We started out as keen collectors (as we all are) and we had a few specimens that we already had, we started giving some to fellow collectors to help them out, we also where trying to buy specimens and found that the prices were often quite expensive.
After a while we thought we could help out more collectors via selling on Facebook at realistic prices. I think this is the moment that we caught some rare disease Rockhounditase from here we still thought it was just a hobby and not realizing it was now way out of the hobby category. Our small display of rocks (1 cabinet) has now out grown our house.
Time to get a bigger house we moved into a large house with foyer and large dinning room we look at each other and said who needs a dinning room anyway so this is now our rock room which has slowly spread it's way into the foyer.
We are now also members of the Southern Rockhounds and the Mineralogical Society of South Australia things have gone to a whole new level we are at this stage starting to buy collection's and buying in from wholesalers still trying to keep everything a realistic prices.
We now have a website, domain name, dedicated emails and doing a lot of markets and shows.
